The Bathurst City & RSL Concert Band has a proud 130 year history of serving the Bathurst community. We provide an important service to the community, having an integral role on such commemorative and ceremonial occasions such as Anzac Day, Proclamation Day, Remembrance Day, and for charity functions such as the St Catherine’s Fete. The band also plays a leading part in the cultural activity of the city, playing regularly at the annual Brucedale concert for the Arts Council, in the Machattie Park Rotunda for the Historical Society, in various gardens for the Spring Colours Festival and at the Gala Twilight Concert and Carols by Candlelight for Mitchell Conservatorium.
We have earned an enviable reputation as a concert giving formation, catering to Bathurst’s fine music audience, in the process giving the region’s most promising young musicians valuable performance experience and exposure to quality repertoire.
Essential to the band’s existence is the continuing encouragement and generous financial support of the RSL Sub-Branch, Bathurst Regional Council and Mitchell Conservatorium, for which the band is truly grateful.
All players of wind, brass, and percussion instrumentalists are welcomed and encouraged to join! We are a friendly local family with members all around Bathurst, Lithgow, and Orange.
